Abstract

The paper deals with the initial boundary value problem in quasi-brittle materials, where a pulse loading is assumed. Accordingly, wave propagation and eventually strain localization due to damage occurs. To remedy spurious discretization sensitivity a gradient-enhancement of the coupled damage-plasticity model is applied. Some numerical examples related to concrete mechanics are presented.
